Chad and I told you last week that Wednesday night's 2013 CMA Awards ratings were killer!  Now, thanks to Taste of Country's Coti Howell, we know how big. Coti says, "The three-hour Nov. 6 broadcast brought 16.6 million people that tuned in to see a night full of country music's biggest stars".

The 47th annual awards show was the second most-watched broadcast for the CMA Awards in eight years. The program, which was on ABC, and simulcast on WBKR, helped the network rise to No. 1 that night.

CBS wasn't even a close second with 7.3 million less viewers than the CMA Awards. The evening proved to appeal to a broad audience, since it was No. 1 with all adult, teens and even kid demographics.

The social media world was also buzzing with talk of the 2013 CMA Awards. WBKR's Jaclyn Graves tweeted throughout the show and WBKR's Facebook page was alive with the action.  Well, we weren't alone. On Twitter, hashtags like #CMAAwards and keywords like 'Luke Bryan,' 'Eric Church' and 'The Outsiders' were all seen trending. Over 1.6 million tweets were sent regarding the awards show, and 2.8 tweets were sent per individual user.

All of this combines to make the CMA Awards the top country music awards show yet again.

Sure makes me proud. I was there at the first one in 1967.
