Little-Known Kentucky Facts(?)

This sort of thing is always fun. A list of 23 little-known facts about Kentucky has been compiled for the Bluegrass State's 223rd birthday, which was Monday. Some are backed up. Some I know are true. Others? Well, you be the judge.

For example, I've always known that there's a law on the books in Owensboro that prevents a woman from buying a hat without her husband's permission. However, I...don't...think...it's strictly enforced.

I knew that The Walking Dead had roots in Kentucky. The mega-hit series' Melissa McBride, who plays Carol, is from Lexington. And the main character, Rick Grimes, is a Kentucky sheriff in the graphic novels, not a Georgian like he is on the show. But I didn't know about two other BIG Bluegrass ties that I find very cool as a huge fan.
