In 1967, Ohio County native and the Father of Bluegrass Bill Monroe founded himself a music festival in Bean Blossom, Indiana. 50 years later, it's still going strong as it is the world's longest-running annual Bluegrass festival. This year's Bill Monroe Memorial Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival begins this Saturday (6/11) and wraps up next Saturday the 18th.

As I was doing research about the festival, I came upon this really neat video of Monroe jamming with fans at the festival in 1990, "Blue Moon of Kentucky".

Get your tickets HERE! Some of the acts performing at this year's festival include, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Del McCoury, Dailey & Vincent, Marty Raybon & Full Circle, The Grascals, and Larry McReynolds & Virginia Boys.
