The Daviess County Public Schools district is hosting an action-packed Opening Day program at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, in the Apollo High School gym. The school is located at 2280 Tamarack Road. The entire staff and faculty of the DCPS district will be in attendance at this event.

The NASCAR-themed day begins with breakfast in the pit area at 7:15 a.m. DCPS Superintendent Tom Shelton and interim superintendent Mike Gray will make brief remarks before turning the program over to the crew.

The morning includes a three-lap race; and a great sports announcing team calling the action throughout the morning. The program will feature a message designed to keep the DCPS team “on track” during the coming school year – Together, we are stronger than we are alone. It’s all about working together as a team to achieve winning goals!
