I really need to make it to 2017 without hearing anymore news like this. Carrie Fisher, who will live in many generations' hearts as Princess Leia in the Star Wars trilogy, has passed away at the age of 60.

Fisher suffered a heart attack on a flight from London to Los Angeles on Friday, and her mother, legendary actress Debbie Reynolds had informed the public on Christmas Day her daughter was in stable condition.

The actress returned to the role that made her famous in last year's Star Wars: The Force Awakens as now, General Leia Organa. Fisher not only was an actress, she was very funny writer. She wrote the novels Postcards from the EdgeSurrender the Pink, Delusions of Grandma, and the non-fiction books Wishful DrinkingShockaholic, and the recently released The Princess Diarist, her memoir reflecting on making the first Star Wars film.

May the Force be with us all.
