In 2011, Rayvon Owen was singing on stage at Holiday World.  This year, he sang his way into the American Idol Top 4 and will soon embark on a nationwide summer tour.  But first, he's coming back to the tristate this weekend to meet fans and park-goers and sign autographs!

In case you missed Rayvon on American Idol, here are a few of highlights-

Here's Rayvon's first appearance before the judges at the San Francisco auditions.  He nailed Katy Perry's song "Wide Awake."

Here's his first performance from Hollywood week.  Rayvon told the judges he wants to be the next American Idol (and he came close) to make his mama proud.  Love this and yes.  Mama was in the theatre to watch.

And here's the performance that sealed Rayvon's spot in the American Idol Top 24.  He just killed Sam Smith's song "Lay Me Down" at The House of Blues.

Holiday World president Matt Eckert is a big fan of Rayvon's and can't wait to welcome him back to the park! “Rayvon was a ray of sunshine all season. His presence alone would light up the stage and our guests felt his sincerity,” Eckert wrote on the park’s blog. “He takes nothing for granted, appreciates all of life’s experiences, and has never once forgotten the path he has taken to get him to where he is today.”

Before touring with American Idol this summer, Rayvon Owen will spend time at Holiday World, where he’ll visit friends, watch shows, and ride roller coasters.

This Friday, June 5, Owen will sign autographs and visit with park guests for an hour starting at 2pm CDT at the Hoosier Celebration Theater. The first 250 fans will receive a photo sheet showing the singer/songwriter as a Holiday World performer and in the present day. Owen will then watch the park’s 3pm EPIC Praise show, which includes his song, “Brand New Day.”

Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari are now open daily, featuring the new Thunderbird – the nation’s first launched wing coaster.

And if you happen to be at the park this weekend, say "Hi" to Rayvon and congratulate him on his amazing American Idol run!
