The Owensboro Daviess County Convention & Visitors Bureau is continuing their annual tradition of collecting holiday cards for delivery to area veterans in senior living facilities and nursing homes.

Last year's card drive collected more than 4,500 cards for area veterans. The cards were distributed to veterans at 13 different facilities in and around Owensboro, including the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson.

"We are proud of this tradition of honoring area veterans," said Shannon Wetzel, Executive Director of the Convention & Visitors Bureau. "We are excited to work with our partners in the community to continue this tradition for the seventh year."

Family, school, civic and church groups are invited to collect cards to contribute. Cards are now being collected at the Convention & Visitors Bureau office at 215 E. 2nd Street, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am. to 4:30 p.m.

Cards can be signed by individuals or groups of people. Please address envelopes to "Honored Veteran”, "American Hero" or "Dear Service Member" as each group prefers.

Card collection will continue through Dec. 13. For additional information, please contact the Convention & Visitors Bureau at 270-926-1100.
