Although North American Midway Entertainment is not the company that supplies rides to the Ohio State Fair, it has announced that, until further notice, its Fire Ball ride will not be in operation at the Kentucky State Fair or any state fair where it is present.

The communications VP for Kentucky Venues made the announcement early Thursday, according to a report from WDRB in Louisville.

On Wednesday evening, a horrifying turn of events played out as the Ohio State Fair's Fire Ball ride, which is manufactured by KMG, broke apart, killing one 18-year-old man and injuring several others, two critically.

Amusement of America is the ride provider for the Ohio fair.

An investigation into the cause of the malfunction in Ohio is ongoing, but, as a precaution, Fire Ball rides are being shut down in Indiana and California, as well as in Kentucky.
