Chadwick Benefield

Chad here! After 9 years of being one half of The WBKR Waking Crew, I am now one half of the all-new CB Radio Show here on WBKR! Our show runs 6a-9am CST Monday through Friday and I also co-host The BKR's Dozen Countdown with Dave Spencer each Saturday morning at 8am. In addition to flapping my lips on the air, I emcee a variety of events all over the state of Kentucky. I emcee charity functions, beauty pageants and dance competitions. I love country music. In fact, I love all kids of music. I listen to everything from Justin Moore to Katy Perry to Sam Smith to David Nail to Kings of Leon to Garth Brooks to Kelly Clarkson to J Hud and Pitbull. I love tennis, running, and reality television. When I am not working I am likely on the sectional watching The Blacklist, Project Runway, The Biggest Loser, American Horror Story, and pretty much anything on The Tennis Channel or ESPN. I vacation . . . a lot! I love Mexico and any place I can get to on a cruise ship.

Chamber Danger: Chad’s Ice Bucket Challenges in Downtown Owensboro

This month, for my Chamber Danger video series for the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce, I took buckets of water and coolers of ice to Smothers Park downtown.  And I followed strangers around challenging them to let me dump freezing cold water on their heads.  You'll be surprised how many said "Yes!"  LOL!.  Watch this.

Robin Williams as The American Flag [Video]

There have been all sorts of tributes to Robin Williams since his tragic suicide just a couple of weeks ago.  Seems everyone has been sharing their favorite Robin Williams moments on social media and beyond.  This is one of my favorites.  It's one of the best I have seen and one of Robin Williams' finer moments.  Watch him portray the American Flag in the I Love Liberty event from 1982.  Only a genius could pull off this kind of reverence and irreverence simultaneously.  Williams takes the beloved image of the American Flag and gives it a pulse and sense of humor as he recounts its history.  This is absolute comic genius.  A tribute to America from a truly American treasure.

Moving Tribute to SPC Brandon Mullins of Owensboro [Video]

It was August 25th, 2011 that Brandon Mullins was killed in Afghanistan.  The 2008 Apollo High School graduate had been stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, but was in the Middle East on special orders with Operation Enduring Freedom.  While serving there, his vehicle was attacked in the Kandahar province and the Owensboro, Kentucky native never made it back home.  Three years later, his parents, Tommy and Cathy Mullins, have recorded this stirring tribute to their son.  It's called "Twenty One."  And as powerful as the song is, you must watch the video through to its conclusion.  It's the voice of Brandon that will ultimately give you chills and remind you that tomorrow is never promised.  This is incredible.
