Almost everyday of my adult life, I've consumed some sort of carbonated soda pop. Let's not get into what a consumer in this part of the country or that part of the country calls it. I call it "Coke" or "pop", no other alternatives thank you. In other words, I don't care what color the Coke can is, I'm drinking it.
Okay, I know kids--and maybe adults--can be a little mischeivous this time of year, well, on Halloween Night, but sometime this week, I became the victim of an unusual prank.
Taylor Swift has definitely diversified her cover songs on her current "Speak Now" tour. In Atlanta a few weeks ago, she was joined on-stage by rapper T.I. and this past Wednesday night in Austin, TX, she did a 180 and she brought out folk-singer, Austin native, and one-hit wonder Shawn Colvin.
Yes, it happened, and I still can't believe it. I'm speechless, stunned, dumbfounded, etc. The team no one thought would make the postseason silenced their naysayers by playing their hearts out and winning their 11th World Series over the tenacious Texas Rangers.
I am faithful to many teams. Louisville, WKU, the Tennessee Titans (although after yesterday, maybe not so much), and the Chicago Bears I count among my favorites, but one team stands above the rest, the National League Champions, the St. Louis Cardinals.
If you had any doubts about the selling power of American Idol after the past couple of years, think again. Newest Idol and country teen sensation Scotty McCreery's debut album, Clear as Day, has debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 this week.
Scary movies don't scare me, but scary TV? That's a little different. Leave it to the powers that be to premiere two creepy, and sometimes, bloody shows in October. It's brilliant marketing with oh yeah Halloween just around the corner. Not only are these series chilling, but they are really good and really fascinating to watch.
UK fans will have many fond memories of the last time they played LSU. They won! The last time the two teams met, the then newly #1 ranked Tigers waltzed into Commonwealth Stadium expecting victory.
Magazines are pretty cool, especially when they are relevant to your life. This week, I've received three magazines I'm pretty sure I'm NOT subscribed to and well, maybe one of them is relevant to me.
Ah Netflix, how I've loved it and I've hated it over the last seven years. The once popular "you rent DVDs, we ship them to your home" service has taken a brutal beating over recent membership fee increases and then today, their stock price dropped due to continuing customer dissatisfaction.
