John Carter Cash has written and plans to release a book about his father entitled "House of Cash: The Life, Legacy, and Archives of the Man in Black" due out this Oct. in conjunction with part three of his Bootleg installments.

The seventh annual "Gone to the Dogs" event will commence tomorrow afternoon August 7th at Combest Pool here in Owensboro. The swim begins at 6PM and ends at 8PM. It's a chance to go swimming in a pool full of pups, which by the way is collectively all of my kids absolute dream come true.

So school resumes for Daviess County and Owensboro City Schools on August 10th and it seems like everything I mark off my list brings something new. We've already done some clothes shopping, and picked up a majority of the needed classroom supplies thanks to the grandparents. Now we just need shoes, school fees, ohh and don't forget the snacks.
The Daviess County Teachers Federal Credit Union located at 1900 South Eastern Parkway is holding a blood drive to help local children with cancer aged 2, 7, and 16. The drive is set for Monday August 1st from 9AM to 4PM. Stop in and give to support those in need. The Western Ky Regional Blood Center is also in need of all blood types.
