Jaclyn Graves

I was born in Jackson, TN, but grew up Milan, TN and Mayfield, KY. Ever since I can remember, I've loved the stage. I started singing in public at the age of six at the First Baptist Church in Milan. When I got my first solo, my Mom said, “I didn’t even know she liked to sing!” Ha! I've been blessed to perform on many stages in my life and have even opened for Jake Owen, Eric Church, Gary Allan, Justin Moore, Kellie Pickler, Rodney Atkins, Montgomery Gentry and more. One of the coolest things I've been able to do is to sing (in Latin!) at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. Such a beautiful place and an unforgettable experience. I am a proud graduate of Western Kentucky University (Go Tops!) and a lifelong member of Kappa Delta sorority. As most of you know, I'm s HUGE sports fan! I even worked with the WKU men’s basketball team for 3 ½ years while at Western. Being that I grew up in Tennessee, I'm a Vols fan and a Titans girl! After living in Owensboro for only two weeks, I met Chad. (I knew no one, so I wasn't picky, ha!) We, obviously became instant friends and he convinced me to work here at WBKR. I started here on The Morning Show with Chad and Moon, but after my sweet and sassy Carsyn was born, early mornings just weren't going to cut it! I love the Midday Show and talking with y'all day after day. As you know, my Carsyn is my world and I appreciate y'all letting my go on and on about her! I LOVE country music... from Waylon to the Randy Rogers Band, my baby-daddy Luke and the Florida Georgia Line! Being a part of our community thru WBKR is my favorite part of my job! Y'all are the best listeners ever!

My Halloween Message For My Trick-or-Treaters

I never hand out candy on Halloween. No, it's not because I'm like Moon and sit in the dark not wanting to talk to children. It's because we always go to a friend of Carsyn's and trick-or-treat with a bunch of other kiddos. So, I normally just leave a container of candy on the front porch and call it a day. Of course, I realize that the first kid who finds it probably puts every piece into his lucky little bag, ha!

This year, I thought to leave a semi-threatening note along with the candy. I really left for the parents walking around with their kiddos, thought maybe they'd get a good laugh out of it.

So, here is my message...

Dierks Bentley’s “I Hold On” Video

Dierks Bentley's "I Hold On" is one of my favorite songs of 2013. I love how personal it is. We all know that he does still drive an old beat-up white Chevy, still plays that old guitar and how much he loves his wife. It's a beautiful song and I've been waiting for the video.

Well, I've finally watched it and I'm gonna call Video Of The Year for any upcoming awards show. The actor in the video is shown going thru, what I'm guessing, was Dierks' journey in Nashville to where he is now.

Y'all take a look and let me know what you think!

Halloween Brought Me To Tears

I don't know about your kiddos, but my Carsyn normally changes her mind about what she wants to be for Halloween about 47 dozen times. Not this year. She's only wanted to be one thing and one thing only... a Princess Bride. (Think Rapunzel at the end of Tangled, ha!) So, that's what we got her. After a few alterations to her veil, longer and sparkly, she was ready to go.

Today was her school party and while walking up to Settle Memorial, I wanted to take a picture of her on the church steps. Turns out, that was a bad idea...

Mountain Workshops “One Eye Open” [VIDEO]

The Mountain Workshops have done an amazing job documenting so many great stories about our Owensboro community. I came across one today and I already knew who it was. Well, I don't personally know this family, but I have followed their story, like so many others have, thru social media.

T-bird is an 11 year-old Owensboro boy, who has been fighting brain cancer since 2009. His battle has been, to be honest, painful to watch. As a mother, when I see the stories of these innocent children, I can't help but think of their parents and how hard it must for them.

"One Eye Open" allows you inside the life of T-Bird's Mom and the daily struggles she faces while caring for her son.

Garth Releases Another Comeback Clue!

Back in August, Chad tipped us off on the gossip circulating about Garth Brooks returning to the stage in 2014. Like many of you did, I went to Garth's website to see what I could find. I quickly registered to get newsletters from his site to keep up to date on any announcements coming from his camp.

Well, this morning... we got another piece of the Garth World Tour 2014 puzzle!

When Facebook Stalking Goes Wrong

We've all been there. You meet someone new, you want to check out your ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend, word around the street is that the mean girl from high school got fat... no matter the excuse, you're stalking someone of Facebook. I've said it many times, "Facebook is a legal form of stalking and I love it". The sheer terror that takes over your body when you think you've accidentally "liked" a photo from 2011 is second to none.

Well, a dear co-worker of mine had a major Facebook "Oh, Lawd no!" moment today. Here's the hilarious mishap...

The 7th inning stretch normally provides to be entertaining, but during Game 1 of the World Series last night, it proved to be very memorable.

Retired U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Dan Clark sang "God Bless America" and it was perfect. Not only does he have a beautiful voice, but you can see how much it meant to him to sing this song.

Take a look... Oh, I'm not responsible for that fuzzy feeling you'll get and a few possible tears that may produce from watching this video. :)

Ever seen a marching band moonwalk? No, not individually, but as a team. Yes, that happened during a Michael Jackson tribute performance and it's even better than you're thinking!
