Jaclyn Graves

Jaclyn Graves was born in Jackson, TN, but grew up Milan, TN and Mayfield, KY. Go Cardinals! Jaclyn is a true performing artist. She started singing in public at the age of six at the First Baptist Church in Milan. She auditioned and beat out all the nine and ten-year-olds. Her mother, Janet said, “I didn’t even know she liked to sing!” Jaclyn’s first professional appearances were weddings, a job she still performs frequently and also performs with her band at various local clubs and events. She has opened for such artists as Eric Church, Gary Allan, Kellie Pickler, Rodney Atkins, Montgomery Gentry and more. When Jaclyn was in high school, she traveled to Paris, France, with a vocal group led by Bob Westbrook of Memphis that is famous for being the vocal teacher for Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, Britney Spears – just to name a few. While there, she performed in Latin at Notre Dame Cathedral. Later in the trip, the group performed modern music in English at Euro Disney. Jaclyn attended Western Kentucky University, majoring in criminology and sociology where she was also a member of Kappa Delta sorority. Jaclyn went on to work with the WKU men’s basketball team for 3 ½ years which was her favorite job ever – well besides being a DJ on WBKR. She is a big sports fan, so she loved it! Hilltopper for life! When Jaclyn started at WBKR, she had no previous broadcast experienced. She met Chad when she entered a local talent contest. She came to WBKR after being offered a guest deejay appearance; she went over so well, she was invited to joining the morning team. Jaclyn left when her daughter Carsyn was born and returned in January 2011 to the midday show. Jaclyn loves singer Luke Bryan and pro quarterback Aaron Rogers. “ Hmmm-hmm…” That’s what she says when she hears their names… Jaclyn says, “The best thing about working at WBKR is it is so much fun! I love the music and a chance to be a part of the community. But if I could be doing anything else it would be a country music singer, with a record deal, hit-songs and touring. It makes me a little jealous to play all of these artists who are doing what I want to do!”

The Story Behind Ashley Monroe’s “Like A Rose” [VIDEO]

I've been a fan of Ashley Monroe since the day I heard "I Don't Want To". She has one of those classic, effortless voices that you can't mistake or forget.

When Miranda Lambert announced she was forming an all-girl trio, Pistol Annies, and Ashley was one of the members, I was pumped!

Now, Ashley has released a new album, Like A Rose, and the title track is its first single. It's wonderful and I was so excited when I came across this video of the story behind the song.

Take a look and see why I love this girl so much!

Chad And Jaclyn Run The Mud Run Course: Part 2 [VIDEO]

With the Owensboro Mud Run set to happen on Saturday at Diamond Lake, Chad decided we should run the course. I shared several videos with you from Part 1. If you haven't watched those yet, do it now, ha!

Here are a few remaining obstacles we attempted, and even threw in Chad racing Brian Smith in the mini-truck! I may or may not hit myself in the race with a rope....ok, I do, wasn't exactly how I thought that obstacle would end, ha! Want to see Chad roll down Heartbreak Hill or climb a huge rope in waders? Watch now!

Boston Bruins Hockey Fans Unite In Singing National Anthem [VIDEO]

No matter where you are from, the events of the Boston Marathon bombings were heartbreaking. Wednesday night, in the heart of this tragedy, an amazing moment was captured on camera. Thousands of fans at the Boston Bruins hockey game joined in together in the singing of our National Anthem.

Goosebumps. Tears. Pride. I experienced all three watching this video and I can bet you will too.

Chad And Jaclyn Run The Mud Run Course: Part 1 [VIDEO]

The Owensboro Mud Run is THIS Saturday at Diamond Lake Resort. This event is going to be awesome! Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society and you can still register.

Chad is always coming up with crazy ideas that I basically have no say-so in and running this course beforehand is his latest! We went out to Diamond Lake Tuesday afternoon and actually ran the entire course! (I'm still sore, I have blisters and my left leg is jacked up!) Although all of the course wasn't constructed yet, we scaled a 6 foot wall (well, I basically face-planted), we crossed grown-man monkey bars, attempted the cargo net and Chad even got in the water for those three obstacles. Watch and be prepared to laugh!

Meet Clyde! She’s Carsyn’s New Puppy! [PHOTOS]

Clyde & Carsyn  If you listen to my Midday Show, then you know how much Carsyn loves animals. Any animal... horses, bunnies, kitties, puppies and even unicorns, ha! She's been asking for a pet for a while and I finally decided that I was ready to get one. I knew that a puppy was the way to go... let's be honest, we haven't faired well with cats in the past.

When I walked in to work Thursday morning, Roxianne drug me to the computer to look at some new puppies that SparKy Rescue had ready for adoption. All it took was one look and I was ready to get that puppy!

2013 Masters Recap — Adam Scott Wins the Masters in Sudden-Death Playoff

Did y'all know that I'm a big golf fan? No?!? Well, I am! My whole family is, we love it! Am I a good golfer? Heck no, I'm terrible! But, I'm a really good beer cart girl, ha!

One reason that I love golf is because of the self-discipline it takes to really succeed in the sport. Another is because of all of the summers that we would ride around on a Sunday afternoon in August to follow our friends Jason and OJ Lancaster in the Mayfield Golf and Country Club WKA. But, the main reason I love golf is Adam Scott. If you don't know who he is, ladies, google him NOW, ha! He's not too shabby to look at and did I mention that he's Australian?!?  Yes...he's a professional athlete, hot AND has an awesome accent! That trip around the world would be worth the jet-lag, ha!

Adam Scott just happened to win the Masters today and gained himself a beautiful green jacket. Keep reading as Joe Student breaks down the intense finish...

My Name Is Jaclyn…. And I Am An Old-Fashioned Church Lady

Until I was about 12 years old, my Sunday church outfit consisted of four things... a fancy dress, hose or ruffle socks, dress shoes and one heck of a bow. On special occasions, I might even put on a spiffy hat! Don't y'all remember Easter and Mothers Day when the elder women of the family would get a corsage to wear?!? Or is that just a Tennessee Southern-Baptist thing? Ha!

In my thirty years, I have worn jeans to Sunday morning service....once. It wasn't too long ago and I swear, I felt like the devil himself was setting my legs on fire! They itched the entire service and I swore I'd never do it again! And, so far, I haven't.

This morning in church, the pastor recommended to take over as senior pastor was preaching. I was SO excited to hear him preach and to see the new direction the church was taking. I almost gasp at his outfit when he walked up to the pulpit.
