I usually try to make a New Year's Resolution every year, but I think I'm just going to play it by ear for 2012. I do want to exercise more, spend more time with my family & friends and try to make more money somehow?! I'm very fortunate to have a job I love and family I love, my only wish is for everyone to have a great 2012 hug and kiss your kids and wife more and never take anything or anyone for granted!
Here's wishing you a safe & Happy New Year from all of us at 92.5 WBKR!
Hope you and your family had a great Christmas! It was a good one for the Horn family, all the kids were happy and so were the grown-ups. You have to let me know what cool or off the wall stuff you got from Santa this year
I love looking at Christmas lights! Couple nights ago we traveled to Santa Claus, Indiana and checked out the Santa Claus Land of Lights, it was well worth the drive I highly recommend it! There are open December 26th thru January 1st. Portion of their proceeds benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities.
I found a video of a home in Oregon that you need to check out and a video of our visit to a house just off Highway 54 in Owensboro.
'Merry Christmas' from my family to yours and please be careful on the roadways alot of accidents happening here lately, keep that cell phone put away until you get where your going.
Sorry to report bad news but unless we experience a Christmas miracle NO white Christmas for us this year, temperatures are expected to be around 50 on Christmas day, but on the positive side when you pack the kids & gifts in the car to visit family & friends the temperature will feel real nice!
Check out the video's I found, we can make believe it's going to be a white Christmas can't we? Merry Christmas to you & your family from all of us at 92.5 WBKR!
There have been so many movies about Christmas, some good some not so good. 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation' ranks #1 on my list, 'Home Alone' & 'Home Alone 2' are great movies too. Also got to love the classic animated shows like 'Frosty the Snowman', 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer', and other greats like 'The Santa Claus', 'Polar Express', 'The Grinch' and so many more!
Be sure to take my poll and pick your favorite?
I literally teared up watching this video, some of us think we've got it pretty bad in life sometimes but there is always someone who has it alot worse. As you can see in this video the kindness of just one person can really make a difference, the world would be a better place if we all try to help our fellow man in their time of need.
Christmas has been around a long time, a very long time! Did you know it became a federal holiday in the United States since 1870? Popular customs include exchanging gifts, decorating Christmas trees, attending church, sharing meals with family and friends and, of course, waiting for Santa Claus to arrive! Christmas is my favorite holiday, I love watching the smiles on kids faces as they open Christmas presents on Christmas morning.
I don't recall ever traveling far for the holidays, just to grandmas and my moms who live around here. I know alot of you have family or friends far away or in the military that you travel to see. Please if you DO drive, DON'T drive like Clark Griswold, have a safe & happy holiday season!
In the mail today I received an envelope from a listener with a Christmas card inside and a handmade ornament - apparently she made one for everyone on our WBKR air-staff.
I think it's great when folks go out of their way to make someone's day by putting in their time and talents to doing great deeds for others; that is what Christmas is all about
I had tinker toys as a kid and loved building all kinds of different things out of them, instead of something electronic for the little ones get them a classic and see what their imagination will come up with? How about the classic little red wagon which I also had to put my toys in and pull it all around the house. I think the kids of today will enjoy them as much as I did when I was a kid.
I've noticed every year at Christmas time here at the WBKR studios we get less Christmas cards every year, we used to get so many that they would cover our entire front receptionist desk and its a big desk! I guess record labels are cutting costs or maybe they are using Facebook or texting radio stations to wish them a Merry Christmas, I'm not sure???
Over the years there has been alot of great Christmas duets like Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton and recently thanks to technology duets with Martina McBride & the late great Elvis Presley!
