Blake Shelton has made it two in a row! Last night, his new hit ‘Over’ topped Jerrod Niemann‘s ‘Shinin’ on Me’ to win the Taste of Country Showdown a second time. The emotional ballad was helped by online voting, but also by listeners who caught both songs on the new Taste of Country Nights radio show. Tonight, Shelton’s potential seventh straight No. 1 hit will have to top one of the feel-good songs of the summer.

Rodney Atkins‘ new song ‘Just Wanna Rock N’ Roll’ is his third single from the ‘Take a Back Road’ album. Much like the title track, it’s an open-the-car-windows-and-drive-a-little-too-fast-down-a-country-road sort of song. He’ll need plenty of support from his fans to top Shelton, however. Miranda Lambert‘s husband has been steamrolling everyone this week.

Listen to clips of both songs and vote here, or catch the full versions tonight after 10PM CT on Taste of Country Nights. You can listen to the show online through any of the 34 radio stations that carry it. Voting will end tonight at 10:40PM CT. Remember, you can cast your vote a second time by calling (888) 678-9995.

Showdown Rules: The song with the most votes wins, and the winner goes on to face a new challenger in the next Showdown. If a song wins five days in a row, it will be retired into the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame to allow for new songs to compete. Some songs will be considered for a second Showdown if voter turnout is healthy in a losing effort.
