The pageant begins Thursday, May 26th and runs through Sunday, the 29th.  Kentucky Governor Matt Beavin will be on hand to crown the winner and Stephanie is hoping to bring home the title of Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival Queen.

This year marks the 86th year of the festival.  In addition to pageants, there's a 5K, and a huge concert featuring Jordan Smith, the champion of Season 9 of NBC's hit talent show, The Voice!

According to the festival's official website, the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival is one of Kentucky's oldest festivals and it takes place in the Appalachian foothills of Bell County, Kentucky.  And, this year, Stephanie Wall from right here in Daviess County, is making the journey to the eastern side of the state to try and claim the crown!

Good luck, Stephanie and Jacob!
