I watched a video one time where a mother tricked her child into thinking it was 6 in the morning and that they were late for school.  That kid took the fastest shower of his life and was out at the curb just in time for the bus to show up... if the bus was going to show up.  It was 6pm on a Friday night.  This basically just happened to me.  Except I'm 24 and I don't ride a school bus.

I caught a few Z's on the couch this afternoon and when I woke up I thought it was morning.  I took a look at my phone and I wish I taken a screen shot of my phone because that would have just made this blog even better but when you are in a panic, that's the last thing you think of.  It said 8:12 on it.  8:12.  Right when I read that it was 8:12, I started thinking big time.  Where in Marietta can I work?  How am I going to tell my parents I just got fired and why (not that it is their responsibility in the slightest) hasn't Chad been blowing up my phone wondering where I was?  Why hasn't Roxianne the Receptionist shot me a text saying "Hey you moron get to work you slacker."

As you can see (more than an hour later, not to mention the Cubs just destroyed the Tigers) Apple has not one single care in the world to let anyone know that it is AM or PM.  Aside from the date, no one in my situation would know the difference.  Especially after a nap.

Other than that, Chad will be going to Nashville Tomorrow and I HAVE to be there to make sure that he gives everyone full coverage of all the action from CMA Fest.  It was a stressful little episode I had.

I SHOOT out of bed.  I mean Apollo 13 thruster/Boeing taking off/feet didn't hit the ground until I was in the bathroom kind of "Shoot" out of bed.  I was more stressed out than Cougar in the Beginning of Top Gun when his plane almost got shot down.

8:12.  I keep saying that.

Anyway, After I simultaneously pull my shirt over my head and lock the door, I realize it's hot outside.  I think geeze i'ts going to be a steamer today. 8:12.  I get in the car and book it in reverse out of my driveway, redline down the street and then something started to dawn... and it wasn't morning dawn. 8:12.  When you are in a panic you only see bits and pieces of things.  It's incredible how you can realize something and then realize that everything will be alright.... it's the best feeling in the world, don't get me wrong.  What did I notice?  The Sun.  Red sky at night... Sailor's Delight.  Sun sets in the West and the first leg of my trip to work is heading West and sure enough that sun was sinking down back behind the airport over there off the skiff.  Right when I notice this, I pass by Chad's house and his truck was still there.  It was 8:12pm.  Brake pedal, tongue to cheek smile, turn around and go home.  I literally think I know what it's like to hit the lottery.

As you can see, no shower... so just a hat and look at that light!  A fit of panic would make you think that this natural light is morning wouldn't it?

I turn around and call my mother to tell her what had just happened.  We love telling "I'm a moron stories."

Go back to sleep, Fannie.
