Former Owensboro Senior High and Western Kentucky University football standout Buster Ashley has been named one of four sports Hilltoppers who will be inducted into the WKU Athletic Hall of Fame.

A four-year starter at OHS, Ashley originally attended Louisville, where he sat out his freshman year as a redshirt. He moved on to WKU, where he started at right tackle on the offensive line. He earned all-Gateway Conference honors in three years with an Offensive Lineman of the Week honor in 2004. Ashley also served as a member of the NCAA Division I Elite Student-Athlete Advisory Group.

The 2016 class of inductees include Ashley, Sharon Lee Miller (football), Tiffany Porter-Talbert (women's basketball), and Mike Wells (men's basketball).

The inductees will honored in a ceremony highlighting the annual W-Club Homecoming Brunch set for Saturday, October 22nd at 10:30 a.m. (CDT) on the main floor of E.A. Diddle Arena on the campus of WKU in Bowling Green. The inductees will also be honored at halftime of WKU's Homecoming football game that same night. WKU vs. Old Dominion will kick off at 6 p.m.
