Yes, Sunday afternoon the darling Carrie Underwood was at Rogers Center in Toronto. She threw out the first pitch. According to Megan Paccella at Taste of Country, the wee idol put aside her microphone over the weekend and picked up a baseball instead. The ‘Blown Away’ hitmaker stepped up to the pitcher’s mound at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada to throw out the first pitch at the Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees baseball game on Sunday night (August 12).

Well, dadburn it as a Yankees fan, she could've replaced Phil Huges as the Bombers' starter. She couldn't have done much worse. Oy! The Blue Jays won 10-7, but it was nowhere near as close as that score would indicate.

While there’s no doubt that the country star is able to strike em’ out musically, Underwood isn’t as confident about her pitching skills as she is about her singing voice.

“Throwing the first pitch out at the Blue Jays/Yankees game today!” she tweeted to her 671,000 followers, adding a hashtag that read “hope I make it to the plate.” Phil Huges knows just how she felt!

From the looks of it, Underwood had a relaxing time tossing the ball around and enjoying a baseball game in Canada, where she also performed at the 2012 Boots and Hearts Festival. The award-winning songstress has been spending some much-needed down time promoting her new single and ‘Blown Away’ video, making appearances here and there before she climbs back onto her tour bus this fall.

Underwood will continue to prep for her headline tour of North America, which will hit domestic  shores on Sept. 14 and wrap in December. In the meantime, it looks like the tender-hearted country gal is having a good time. Shoot, she's not available for the playoffs.
