The topic of gay marriage is everywhere these days. From Washington to Tinseltown, but one place I wasn't expecting to hear anything about it is from Nashville. I was wrong...

Carrie Underwood recently did an interview with Britain's The Independant newspaper and expressed her views toward the highly-debated topic.

She tells the paper, "As a married person myself, I don't know what it's like to be told I can't marry somebody I love, and want to marry. I can't imagine how that must feel. I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love."

Not ashamed of her faith, she says that it's her faith that led her to this decision, "Above all, God wanted us to love others. It's not about setting rules, or [saying] 'everyone has to be like me.' "
