I learned some fascinating things about my grandmother while spending time with my mom on Mother's Day. First of all, there are several photos I remember growing up that always looked a little unusual to me, in that, while they were in color, they didn't seem to be like other color photos that I'd seen.
I am a huge car fan! A classic muscle car or a shiny new pick-up truck can turn my head in an instant. I enjoy going to car shows, reading car magazines, and working on cars. Anything to do with cars, it catches my attention
It is that time of year again! The International Barbecue Fest is back in downtown Owensboro this Friday and Saturday. And as always it brings with it a variety of fun activities and of course great food!
I always enjoy the Barbecue Fest and try to make it down for a little while every year
This morning, The Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce's Rooster Booster Breakfast was held at the new Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The program was held in front of a sold out crowd and broadcast live on 1490 WOMI-AM
I am excited to hear that the process is moving forward for a skate park in Owensboro. I use to enjoy skating as a child but where I grew up, there were very few places to safely skate. For this reason, I am very excited about a skate park in Owensboro!
The City of Owensboro is holding a public meeting tonight at 6:30 about the skate park
This year just seems to be flying by! Soon the summer temperatures will b here and the kids will be out of school. So I thought I would pass along some information I just found about a different type of summer day camp
“Giving a little more” is something that most athletes and fitness experts know all about. They know that to get to that goal or to make the team, they have to push themselves. And I would be willing to bet many of us “non-athletes” can throw in a something on this topic as well
Rome wasn't built in a day. Check. And neither was Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Got that, too. But now you can see three years of construction on the new hospital occur right before your eyes--in less than two minutes--courtesy of this webcam time lapse video.
The Owensboro Mud Run is THIS Saturday at Diamond Lake Resort. This event is going to be awesome! Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society and you can still register.
Chad is always coming up with crazy ideas that I basically have no say-so in and running this course beforehand is his latest! We went out to Diamond Lake Tuesday afternoon and actually ran the entire course! (I'm still sore, I have blisters and my left leg is jacked up!) Although all of the course wasn't constructed yet, we scaled a 6 foot wall (well, I basically face-planted), we crossed grown-man monkey bars, attempted the cargo net and Chad even got in the water for those three obstacles. Watch and be prepared to laugh!
Now that spring is finally here (or at least has made an appearance), the thoughts of outdoor activities have started popping up! And with the wind we have had the last few days it might be a fun idea to go fly a kite!
Well, that is the idea that West Louisville Elementary School had as well! P-3 students will create three different types of kites, come up with hypotheses, and conduct experiments to determine which design flies best
Kentucky Wesleyan College men's basketball coach Todd Lee is leaving the program after eight seasons. Coach Lee will be leaving the Panthers to join the basketball program of Grand Canyon University.
