The Mountain Workshops set out each Fall to capture the untold stories of towns throughout Kentucky. Along with faculty from Western Kentucky University, they "explore the richness of the community, the beauty of landscape and the possibilities and challenges of visual storytelling." Thirty-seven years ago, a group of Western Kentucky University students and faculty traveled to western Kentucy and Tennessee for a photo essay project on the last one-room schoolhouses in those regions.
During the month of October, there are two appreciation periods for the people who help with our kids every day. National School Bus and National School Lunch appreciation weeks are this month to show support and give thanks to these vital members of the school staff
October is Breast Cancer awareness month. It started almost 25 years ago to help raise awareness and educate us on this horrible disease. It is also a reminder to get screened or to help us remind those we love to get screened
