November 15, 2011 WBKR's Ultimate "Dirty Santa" Party Saturday night was a blast! Some folks, like Sharon Tucker (who snagged a Gaylord Opryland "Country Christmas" Vacation), won some pretty awesome gifts! November 14, 2011 WBKR's first-ever Ultimate Dirty Santa Party was Saturday night at The Hines Center in Philpot. Not only did we raise thousands of dollars for The WBKR/WOMI Telecom Pioneers Christmas Wish program, we had an absolute blast playing Dirty Santa with everyone in attendance. Some were lucky . . . like the Tuckers, who won a "Country Christmas" vacation from Gaylord Opryland Resort! Others, like Ryan Nowak, weren't as fortunate. In fact, Ryan left the party with two cans of olives! But everyone was treated to a special performance by Kizzy, who was on hand to perform her holiday classic . . . The 12 Days of Kizzmas! Enjoy!
November 11, 2011 Lydia Marie Haycraft is a five (almost six!) year old little girl. She was recently diagnosed with "Ewings sarcoma" a rare bone cancer.
There are several fundraisers coming up, including this weekend, for the family to offset medical costs.
November 11, 2011 WBKR's Ultimate "Dirty Santa" Party is Saturday night at The Hines Center in Philpot! And, the WBKR staff is getting ready for the big night! In fact, for the last week, we've basically looked like Santa's elves because we have been wrapping 300 presents. I'm pretty sure our receptionist Roxianne never cares if she sees a roll of wrapping paper or Scotch tape ever again. But, Thursday afternoon, she got a little relief from Jaclyn, who decided that she would show off her mad gift-wrapping skills to the camera!

October 26, 2011 Precious Blood Catholic Church is cooking up Halloween-themed fun for the weekend! The church is hosting a Halloween Trivia Night and Silent Auction Saturday, October 29 and the fun starts at 6pm inside the Precious Blood Parish Hall, 3306 Fenmore Street in Owensboro! I will be there serving as emcee . . . and WBKR is bringing a table full of players with their eyes on the trivia prize!

October 18, 2011 Saturday night is a very special night at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. As you likely know by now, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Opry is again celebrating with an amazing, star-studded line-up. This morning, on The WBKR Waking Crew, Moon and I chatted with my good friend April Hyde, who gave us all the scoop about how the Opry will "flip the switch" pink this weekend. She also taunted Moon with news that Martina McBride would be the person doing the honors. Take a listen . . .
There is a lot to do this weekend around Owensboro and throughout the Tri-state, and a lot of it is to benefit local families and charities. A "Pay It Forward" Pure Stock Race for Zach Estes will be held at Windy Hollow Raceway Saturday night. Proceeds will benefit the Kosair Children's Hospital.....

Well....how excited am I?!?! My boys from when I was there are participating in the Big Red vs. Big Blue Alumni Game!
