Tori Trizzle, who turned 13 on September 1st, has been diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer in her leg. In addition, her doctors have found spots on her lungs. The biopsy will reveal the details. Her chemotherapy began on September 3rd. I'm already getting a sense of how tough this brave girl must be.

Western KY Raptor Center Fundraising Event

Eric from the Western Kentucky Raptor Center stopped by my show today to talk about their upcoming fundraising event and brought the cutest little Eastern Screech Owl along you've ever seen! Thor was a little nervous about his first radio appearance, but he did great! (Ok, he pooped on a plate and feathers were everywhere, but that's ok, haha!)

The center is holding a really neat fundraising event at the Western Kentucky Botanical Gardens Sunday, September 16th from 4:00pm - 8:00pm. The guests of honor include an American Kestrel, a Red Tail Hawk, Screech Owls and a Turkey Vulture!

Benefit Beauty Pageant For Emma Ford

Emma Ford is a four year-old little girl from Greenville battling brain cancer. On September 23rd, you can support Emma and her family by attending the silent auction/benefit beauty pageant. All proceeds are being donated to the Ford family.

The pageant  is at the Merle Travis Center in Powderly starting at 2:00pm.
