Every February here at WKDQ, we ask our listeners to become Partners in Hope with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Some of our listeners give because they understand the heartache parents feel, some are just good people and then there are those who have known a child who has suffered from cancer. For them, giving to a place like St. Jude is a personal experience. No parent should have to watch their child suffer. No family should ever have to say goodbye to a person who has just begun experiencing life. No child should feel the hurt and fear that cancer evokes.

December 12, 2012 American Red Cross of Western Kentucky will be holding an event this Friday, December 14th (9:00am - 6:00pm) at Towne Square Mall. The event is to promote volunteering, preparedness and to give people an opportunity to donate as well.

December 5, 2012 Yep! We love Christmas music. And Jaclyn and I love going to Christmas concerts . . . especially when they involve massive heaps of Christmas food. And that's exactly what we found at Gaylord Opryland Resort's all new Christmas show starring Lorrie Morgan. Lorrie Morgan's Enchanted Christmas features two highlights. One is its star, Lorrie, of course. The other . . . the pre-show dinner that will stuff you as fat as Santa! Jaclyn and I had a video camera at dinner and decided to Food Network for you!
December 1, 2012 The 2012 Thunder Roads Kentucky and Owensboro Biker News Holiday Bash is tonight! Formerly called The Bikers Ball, over the three previous Christmas seasons, this event has been one of, if not the largest contributor to the Western Kentucky Toys for Tots fundraising campaign. This event has assisted the Toys for Tots campaign, along with many other local businesses in helping take care of thousands of children each year in the 11 local counties serviced by the GySgt. W.J. Norris Detachment #804 Marine Corps League.
