2 weeks ago If you've ever tuned in for the final stretch of our annual St. Jude Radiothon you have more than likely heard our good friend Rollie Pike. Rollie, who way back in the day won our 5th season of Goldie's Survivor, has become a true friend to WBKR-FM. Personally speaking, Rollie is a great friend of mine and truly one of my favorite people on this planet. And that is no exaggeration. I simply cannot put into words what I think of Rollie and how much he means to me on a personal level. This guy is incredible. But I can say this . . . easily. Rollie is one the most kindhearted and giving people you will ever encounter. He never hesitates to lend a helping hand and is one those rare guys who will be there you when call, every time you call. Unfortunately, as fate would have it, Rollie's now in need of help himself.

2 weeks ago The Daviess County Relay For Life is coming up Friday, May 17th at Diamond Lake Campground and Resort. The event begins at 6pm and continues through 6am, Saturday the 18th. This is my fourth year as Relay Chairperson in Daviess County and this is our fourth consecutive year at Diamond Lake. And we are thrilled with this year's list of special guests and performers. 3 weeks ago Ya'll must really like crawfish! The 8th Annual Taylor's Crawfish Boil was Saturday in Owensboro and hundreds of people showed up for the $10 all-you-can-eat event. And lots of crawfish showed up too. In fact, there were 1,023 pounds of crawfish cooked yesterday and they were all gone by 6pm. But just before the food lines opened at 2, I got a crash course in how to eat a crawfish . . . thanks to January! WATCH!

That's the site of the annual Crawfish Boil, an all-you-can-eat outdoor cookout with live music, food, and more! And it's just $10 per person.
4 weeks ago Up, Down and Dirty For a Cure is in the books! And Owensboro's first-ever Mud Run was a HUGE hit. Hundreds tackled the boot camp-inspired course last weekend at Diamond Lake Campground and Resort and a handful blazed through it. While I ran the course, kissed the ground at the finish line, then immediately ran to the Atmos Energy grill to get a hamburger, others took the course VERY seriously. And they just KILLED it!
