Jason Chambers of Livermore needs your help! He had been in remission for the past four years from leukemia until May of this year. He was diagnosed with a different type of cancer, Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). Jason will have to undergo several months of treatment for MDS.

There will a benefit for Jason and his family this Saturday, June 15th, at the Country Music Warehouse in Livermore.

As most of you know, I grew up in Milan, Tennessee. Most of my family on my Mom and Dad's side still live there. I've always considered myself to be lucky enough to have two hometowns... Milan and Mayfield, KY. Growing up in Milan, we went to my great-grandparents church, Belew's Chapel Church alot. It's exactly the kind of church you picture when you picture a country-church. Maybe 40 people for Sunday service, choir singing old hymns and a cemetery behind it.

That cemetery is the resting place for some of the most important people in my life. And, for some reason, ever since I was a little girl, it's always been one of my favorite places.

I was SO excited when I got my Mother's Day gift from Carsyn that she'd been making at Preschool. I submitted a recipe to her school a few weeks ago, but didn't really know what it was for. Well, now I know... the kids made a recipe book for their Mom's for Mother's Day and I LOVE it!

The cover is a series of questions the kids answered about their Mom and the inside is the recipes from the Moms. There's also a section that reads this, "What is your favorite meal that your Mom cooks for you and how does she prepare it?"

Prepare yourself for some funny kid answers, haha!

I like to think that I don't drive and text. I like to think that I am a safe driver and keep distractions to a minimal. Truth is, I do sometimes send a quick "I'm on my way" or "LOL" response. I've seen the commercials pleading drivers to not text and drive. I was just behind a teenage girl yesterday and I could tell that she had both hands around the steering-wheel, texting away, driving down Frederica. This is not ok. We MUST STOP driving and texting!

Tim McGraw's latest single "The Highway Don't Care" is a beautiful song, I've loved it every since I heard it for the first time. Tim's video for this song acknowledges the problems with texting and driving and is a must see!

PLEASE watch this video and let's all STOP distracted driving!

There are several things that my sweet, little Carsyn loves.... horses, cupcakes, anything Princess and band-aids. Yes, band-aids. I have no clue why she loves them, but we have actually made "art" out of band-aides before. While cleaning out my cabinets, I recently noticed that we have plenty of band-aides and probably shouldn't get anymore anytime soon. Seriously, if the zombie apocalypse actually happened, we could treat all of the wounded with Tinkerbell alone, ha!
