A Really Good Fruitcake Recipe

Yes, you read that right. I have a fruitcake recipe that will make you re-think all those forgotten fruitcakes you might have used as door stop or a paper weight in the past.

A couple of years ago around Christmas, my Dad got a wild hair and he decided to make his grandmother's (my Mamaw Brown's) no-bake fruitcake. I know, who actually likes fruitcake? To be honest, your run of the mill fruitcake isn't that bad. But this recipe is so different and it is delicious!

Whiskey Business: Does Bourbon Really Get Better With Age?

I used to drink bourbon. In fact, it's the first alcohol thing I drank. I remember thinking, how could anyone drink this sh ... stuff. In 1970, a friend of mine Jim Miller, introduced me to Kentucky's fine bourbon, Maker's Mark. Now, that was some good sh .. stuff.

Mike Adams, writing for GuySpeed, says if the majority of top-shelf whiskeys require a 10-20 year aging process, then how are those distilleries just getting started in the business able to market and distribute a brand without waiting decades for their first batch to mature?

Dave’s Favorite Seasonal Beverage…Just Skim Off the Egg Whites

I think many of us have weighed in on Black Friday--the official kick-off of the Christmas season--beginning, for many retail outfits, on Thanksgiving evening. But, let's face it, Thanksgiving is the beginning of the holiday season.

My Awesome-Terrible Lorrie Morgan Show Photos [GALLERY]

It's a Christmas tradition for Chad, Dave and I to broadcast live from Gaylord Opryland Resort. I'll be honest, being here really kicks me into the Holiday Spirit every year! We also always go to the dinner show at the resort. For the last few years Louise Mandrell, but this year, Lorrie Morgan is here for her Enchanted Christmas Dinner & Show. Dinner was great, the show was great and you should check it out!

I knew that y'all would want to see pictures, so I took lots for you to check out! Bad thing is I'm a terrible photographer, sorry! So, look if you must, but don't expect greatness!

Mirko Pasta Now Open in Owensboro

I love food.  I especially love Italian food.  And I love any chance I get to eat somewhere new.  So, Friday night, I dropped by the brand new Mirko Pasta location at Wesleyan Park Plaza here in Owensboro to give it a try.  Oh my goodness.  I love pasta anyway.  But at Mirko all the pastas and sauces are handmade.  I had apple, sage and sausage ravioli with pesto sauce and it was ridonkulous!   In fact, I'm not sure how you say "ridonkulous" in Italian, but I may have to figure it out now .  So, what is Mirko Pasta and where did it come from?  Honestly, before the sign went up at the Owensboro location, I had never even heard of it.  So, I did some digging and found out a little history about Mirko.  Check it out!

What’s your favorite Thanksgiving food?

The closer we get to the Holidays (and how much closer can we get to Thanksgiving???), the thought of all of the different foods and meal traditions my friends and family have start to come to mind. Several of my friends have the normal traditions (turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc) but a few have different tastes shall we say

Chad’s Favorite Thanksgiving Recipe

I love traditional Thanksgiving foods.  Turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, dumplings.  In fact, my mother and aunt share a dumpling recipe that is ridiculous and I look forward to eating it every year.  Dough + salt + chicken= happiness and high cholesterol.  But my absolute FAVORITE Thanksgiving food is Sweet Potato Casserole.  It is one part side order and one part dessert.  It is to food what the Snuggie is to the coach potato.  Pure, unadulterated comfort and bliss.  And, I am about to make you VERY thankful this holiday season.  Here's the recipe . . .

Hold the (shut down of) the presses!!!

I have to say, while I was shocked about the possibility of Twinkies going away, I was more worried about another iconic food item from the line that could be going away as well: Wonderbread!

However, this could become less of a concern after the latest news! At a hearing today, Hostess and the union agreed to sit down to talk over their differences

Smartphones and Social Media Makes for an Easier Drive-Thru Wait

The voice coming through the menu board said, "That'll be about a 7 to 10 minute wait." In the past, I would have said, "Sorry, Charlie." But not anymore.
