For many who will see this, I'm preaching to the choir when I rave about The Big Dipper, one of the most popular businesses in all of Daviess County, and maybe western Kentucky. (I have good friends who don't live here who never miss an opportunity to go to the Dipper when they're in town.)
Serve 'em up! This morning on our What's Cookin'? segment on The CB Radio Show, Mary Higginbotham, from the Daviess County Cooperative Extension Office, shared this amazing Kentucky Proud recipe! It combines two of our favorite things: pumpkins and scones. Yep! We're cookin' up Pumpkin Scones! Here's the recipe.
The first time I ate at Bonnie and Clyde's Pizza in Louisville was way back in the mid 1980's. I was on a day trip with my aunt Roxie and uncle Bill and we stopped there for some lunch. And I remember loving it. I loved it so much it stayed in my memory until this year, when I finally got to return . . . after nearly 30 years. And, you know what? Bonnie and Clyde's is STILL awesome and totally worth a day trip of your own.
I love the Lay's Potato Chips idea of giving us the opportunity to pick its new flavors. Apparently, this will be an annual thing. Sadly, my favorites from each of the past two years didn't make the crinkled cut and were banished.
Dorothy Simpson of Tell City is best known for her amazing Monkey Bread recipe. The people who work in our building swarm like buzzards anytime she drops some off in the WBKR studios. But, today, Dorothy joined us in our What's Cookin'? segment on The CB Radio Show. And this recipe looks amazing too. It's called The One Pan Wonder! It's quick, easy and insanely delicious. Check out Dorothy's recipe here!
