The WBKR St. Jude Radiothon Is Happening Tomorrow and Friday

I have stocked up on tissues because the St. Jude Radiothon is tomorrow and Friday. I'm going to get one of those metallic paper towel holder thingies, stack a few rolls of t.p., and get ready to raise some money. There is nothing like ending childhood disease and cancer to make your day a little bit brighter....even when you have tears in your eyes.

Your iPhone Could Make You Feel Better

I recently got an iPhone and I really like it, it's kind of funny when you think about it how one phone can really replace a lot of things in your home like an alarm clock, a computer, video game systems, even a t.v. remote. There are so many game apps, weather apps and so many more!

15-Year All-McNugget-All-the-Time Diet a Hazardous Health Option…Duh

If the primary purpose of the article I read about a 17-year-old British girl who collapsed after eating nothing but Chicken McNuggets for 15 years was to fire a shot across the McDonald's bow rather than to advise against irresponsibly radical eating habits, then the author of said piece has made a mistake. However, it is newsworthy in its sensationalism and cannot be overlooked.

Dave Spencer’s All “Thumbs” With a Windshield Wiper Blade

It's funny when you tell people you cut your thumb pretty badly with a windshield wiper blade. Because their first thought is, "Well, they aren't THAT sharp are they?" Yeah, you should see my windshield. No, just kidding. You should have seen my thumb!

How Was Your 2011? [VIDEO]

Well what can I say about 2011? It was an up and down year for my family, we lost our home earlier this year due to unforeseen circumstances, very thankful for family & friends for helping us out during that time. But as the new year approaches we get to move into our new home soon as seen in the picture, last month I got me a fancy new iPhone going to have my 12 year old teach me how to use it. I am thankful for my wonderful kids & wife for always being so great, we are all healthy and have each other to lean on.

What else happened in the world in 2011? Check out the videos!

Wanna Quit Smoking? Then SWITCH & QUIT!

Did you know that 220 smoking-related deaths occur in Daviess County every year?  I didn't know that either, but the statistics don't really surprise me.  I know folks who smoke and all have contemplated quitting at one point or another.  I assume each knows that he/she could wind up as a member of that ill-fated 220 Club.  But, there's some really GREAT news for people wanting to quit smoking.  The University of Louisville wants to help and they have launched a program to inform smokers about a "scientifically credible option for quitting . . . by substituting safer smoke-free tobacco products for cigarettes."  The program is called, quite simply, Switch and Quit.
