Fight Cancer And ROCK IT WITH RYLAN!

February is one my favorite times of the year here at WBKR.  That's when we get to rally your support to help raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.  For 26 hours over two days, we ask the tri-state to join us in the fight against childhood cancer.  We introduce you various families who have had to hear those words, "Your child has cancer."  Well, I'm quite sad to report that, last month, Jared Daugherty, a former member of the WBKR family, had to hear those words, "Your child has cancer."

Stop in Rural King on Hwy 60 in Owensboro for a cookout to benefit six year old Kennedi Owens. Kennedi suffers from a Chiari malformation of the brain. She has recently undergone a difficult surgery on her brain and is now preparing for spinal surgery in the fall.

Country Legend Glen Campbell Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s

Sad news arrived this morning as we learned that one of country music's all-time greats, Glen Campbell, has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. His new album will be released in August and it will be his final recording. Glen is also planning a farewell tour and wanted the news out there so fans wouldn't wonder about unusual behavior they might witness on the stage.
