Earlier, during the BKR's Dozen, you heard me select the year 2003 for the Jukebox Hero segment, the portion of the program when we play the #1 song from this week at some time in the past.
My all-time favorite show--comedy or drama or anything--went off the air in 1982. It was a ratings hit in the middle two of its four seasons. But CBS kept moving it around and then axed it in that spring.

2015 marks the 90th anniversary of the Grand Ole Opry. One of the many ways in which the Opry is celebrating is through the release of a series of music collections called Opry 9.0.
While it's still Throwback Thursday, I thought I'd get one in here under the door about an old scrapbook that turned up at my mom's place the other day. It belonged to my grandfather, my dad's dad.

May 16th, 2015 is Armed Forces Day. In 1949, the third Saturday in May was declared to celebrate those who have served in the armed forces for our great country. Although we are grateful and thankful each and every day to everyone who serves our country, today is a special day of gratitude. To those who serve the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force, we say Thank You.
