Holidays are always trying when they arrive shortly after losing someone. But, this Christmas season, the memory of our friend Joe Lowe is going to be alive and well thanks to a big announcement from the Owensboro-Daviess Christmas Parade Association. They have named Joe Lowe the 2012 Grand Marshal of the parade!
October 22, 2012 Roller coasters in the dark. A cool new 3D adventure with Holidog! A gigantic corn maze behind Splashin' Safari. A super cool and haunting laser show to wrap up Saturday nights in the dark. There's SO much to do at Holiday World during Happy Halloween Weekends. If you haven't been, you still have one more weekend left to enjoy all the Halloween fun being offered at the park. A couple of weeks ago, I checked it out and plopped down at the face painting table. LOOK! They turned me into a cat!

Well, it's finally happened. In the age of reboots, remakes, and unwanted sequels, they have finally touched what we assumed everyone tacitly agreed was untouchable -- 'A Christmas Story.' Just in time for this Christmas (naturally) an "official sequel" is being released straight to DVD and Blu-Ray in a handy-dandy package with the original. It looks terrible.

Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke has declared a local state of emergency due to extreme weather conditions. The drought like conditions coupled with high temperatures and little to no rainfall since early June have caused the city to ban the use of fireworks for seven days beginning at 5pm this evening June 29th.
