I had the pleasure of interviewing the boys of Florida Georgia Line Tuesday morning during my Midday Show. We all know that I'm a big fan of their music, so I was really excited to chat with Brian and Tyler!
We talked about a little bit of everything from music to football, their upcoming show at The Ford Center and them in their undies on stage, ha! You can listen to the unedited interview below!
I will be the first person to admit that deep down, I'm a hopeless romantic. So, ABC's The Bachelor is right up my alley. Ever since season two, I've been hooked! The first night is always the most entertaining, because these girls go way, way out of their way to "impress" their suitor. This season, Sean Lowe is the bachelor. (Warning, he is super hot and seems like a total sweetheart!)
So, what were some of my favorite trainwreck moments from last night?
Do you remember the movie How Stella Got Her Groove Back? In the film Angela Bassett stars as Stella, a divorced woman in her mid 40's who decides to take a much needed vacation from work and travel to Jamaica. There she falls in love with a man named Winston. But there's one minor detail (or two) about their relationship. #1- Stella has been out the dating game for quite a while. #2- Winston is half her age. Well, imagine my surprise this past December when my friends and I traveled down to Barbados for a much needed vacation and my friend Leisa, like Stella, got her groove back! Well . . . kinda!
Yesterday at church while I was waiting to check Carsyn into "Sunday School", I noticed a new mother in front of us in line. She was holding a very new baby, I'm guessing she couldn't have been older than 6 weeks or so. While I was admiring that little bundle of preciousness (and praying that Carsyn didn't go straight for her), I witness not one, but two women ask this new Mom a question that should never be asked! Now, as my inner-redneck struggled to explode on these women, I started thinking about questions and comment that you should NEVER say to a new mother.
I'll be interviewing the boys from Florida Georgia Line on Tuesday during my Midday Show. I'm SO excited to talk with them, because I'm lovin their music! Pretty sure it's safe to say how much y'all loved their debut single, "Cruise", being that you voted it your #2 song of 2012 during our Big BKR Smackdown!
So, I thought it would be cool to throw in a few questions from you, our WBKR listeners! Make sure and enter your question and tune in Tuesday to see if I asked the boys your question!
I hate to admit. It pains me to admit. I feel like a fool admitting it. But I think TLC's Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is riot. And fans are amped about the Season Two premiere tonight at 8pm CST! To give you a little sneak preview, here comes a little Honey Boo Boo preview that you MUST watch. Apparently, Mama June HATES mayonnaise. And her loving daughters, armed with a gigantic bowl of it, help her confront her fears. Needless to say, it doesn't go well. WATCH!
Yesterday here at WBKR.com, I shared vacation photos from my trip up Mt. Liamuiga in St. Kitts. Liamuiga is an active volcano on the island and some friends of mine and I had the privilege of hiking to the top of it. You can check it out HERE! But Kizzy called The WBKR Waking Crew yesterday morning to let me know that I didn't need to cruise all the way to the South Caribbean to see one of these wonders of nature. As she puts it, SHE is a volcano ready to explode. LOL! This is HILARIOUS!
I know, I know... it's already January 3rd. Why am I just now talking about New Year's resolutions? Well, you know me, I'm normally late to things, ha! Let's be honest. I don't even remember what my resolutions were from last year, so I'm just guessing that I didn't stick to them.
I think this year, here are a few of mine: Run a half marathon (April 13th!), become a better Mom, friend, etc., be a more giving person & always be happy! So, my question is...
Shortly after having my hernia surgery in November, I asked my surgeon (Dr. Decker) if I could climb a volcano. He kinda laughed and said, "Well, you may wanna practice. I'd hate for you to get halfway up and realize it was a really bad idea!" Hey, Doc! I didn't spend 8 months of the year doing incline training on the treadmill for nothing. I didn't have three holes poked in my lower abdomen and risk losing body parts to sit around the house all Christmas! See, I knew I was headed to St. Kitts during my annual December cruise and that I was going to tackle Mt. Liamuiga, the island's beautiful, but daunting volcano. And I did it! And I have the photos (and the inhaler) to prove it.
I have said it multiple times before . . . jumping into a freezing-cold lake is the single WORST idea in history and the single-worst way to raise money for a charity. LOL! But, you know what! We're doing it anyway and we are going to have a blast. :) The 2013 Polar Bear Plunge is coming up Saturday, February 9th at The Hines Center in Owensboro and we are truly going to be "freezin' for a reason." All proceeds from the Plunge benefit Special Olympics Kentucky. Wanna know how crazy this event is? Check out video from last year's Plunge when Jaclyn, Erin Grant and I took it with a couple of brave WBKR listeners!
This kid is flippin' awesome! A 10-year-old boy in Seattle recently discovered he could use his family's washing machine as a drum set. And what he does with this Super Queen super-capacity plus, 14-cycle washer is INSANE! Take a look. This kid completely rocks it out.
