They swung the gavel, and anything that wasn't nailed down was available for auction at Roberts Stadium today. It's gonna be sad to see it eventually go.
I read this story by Shauna Wright with Townsquare Media, that shockingly, President Obama has descended from the first slave in America. Family-tree exploration site Ancestry.com revealed on Monday that President Obama’s lineage bears an interesting hallmark: he’s a descendant of the very first documented African slave. And surprisingly, the connection is on his mother’s side.
The Travel Channel will feature the town of Santa Claus, Indiana, on its hour-long “Best of the Road” special tonight. Santa Claus is known as one of the top “Most Fun Small Towns” chosen to compete in last month’s “Best of the Road Rally” sponsored by USA Today and Rand McNally. A Best of the Road Rally team visited Santa Claus for two days in late June and enthusiastically experienced the fun at Santa’s Stables, Santa Claus Museum, Santa Claus Christmas Store, Santa’s Candy Castle, Lake Rudolph Campground & RV Resort, and Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari.
I didn't think so much of this ad until I saw the pretty lady in it is from Indiana (albeit NORTH Indiana) but she went to school at Northern Kentucky, so that makes her almost a neighbor. I am sorta tired of it now. It airs all the time on MLB Network, which I watch constantly. Anyway, from our buds at Guy Speed here's the scoop.
Summertime in southern Indiana always means another great show at the Lincoln Amphitheatre. The new two-act musical, A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale, will run through July 1st at the amphitheatre in Lincoln City.
President Abraham Lincoln's time in Indiana has been dramatized in many forms for twenty-five years at Lincoln Ampitheatre in Perry County. When the ampitheatre's construction was completed in 1987, the play Young Abe Lincoln was staged there for the first time. In 2009, LINCOLN: Upon the Altar of Freedom was produced in honor of Lincoln's 200th birthday. Now a new two-act musical play, which will incorporate several of the area's young actors, makes its World Premiere this weekend.
For the second year in a row, Santa Claus is a finalist in the 2012 Best of the Road Rally sponsored by USA Today and Rand McNally. The town will compete with six other destinations in the category for “Most Fun” small town in America. Santa Claus, Indiana was chosen from more than 650 competing destinations.

Khristian Seaton an Evansville, Indiana resident will be appearing on TLC’s newest reality series "TATTOO SCHOOL" premiering Thursday, May 24th at 10:00 PM ET. I don't have a tattoo at the moment but I respect the work that tattoo artists do, just like a painter with a blank canvas they use their imaginations & talents and create works of art.
This sounds like a great new reality show coming to TLC, wanna know more about the show?
They say (who are “they” anyway?) “if you don’t like the weather, stick around a spell, it’ll change”, and nowhere is that more true than in the Tri-State of Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois.
Wow! Southern Indiana was getting a lot of airtime on national television yesterday. First, Holiday World and Santa Claus popped up on Jeopardy! Then, last night David Letterman opened Late Show monologue by saying, "Live from Evansville, Indiana!"
