About forty years ago in Louisville, a man I worked for, Max Rein, had a great idea. During the Kentucky Derby week, Have the Kentucky high school all-stars play the Indiana high school all-stars. Max made a ton of money promoting those early games and he eventually sold the concept to McDonalds which called it "Shoot the Hoop".  I am glad to say after all these years it is still a big event. No longer just Kentucky and Indiana, the classic is back Friday night and tickets are on sale.

Doron Lamb scored 22 points, and Kentucky held off a spirited Kansas rally to beat the Jayhawks 67-59 in the NCAA title game in New Orleans on Monday night. The win gave the Wildcats (38-2) their eighth national championship in school history and first since 1998.
