Annual Christmas Card Collection For Veterans

The Owensboro Daviess County Convention & Visitors Bureau is continuing their annual tradition of collecting holiday cards for delivery to area veterans in senior living facilities and nursing homes.

Last year's card drive collected more than 4,500 cards for area veterans. The cards were distributed to veterans at 13 different facilities in and around Owensboro, including the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson.

The Journey Home Harvest Event: Weekend Fundraiser For Tri-State Teen

Mary Frances Lewis-Fulkerson is an Owensboro teenager who was injured in a horrible car accident in September. Although doctors didn't expect her to survive 24 hours after the accident, Mary Frances still continues to prove them wrong. She's a feisty little fighter!

One of five children, Mary Frances is now at the Craig Institute in Englewood, California. Although she has already far-exceeded all expectations put on her, she still has an incredible journey ahead of her.

The Journey Home Harvest Event this weekend is a way for YOU to help and support this young girl and her family.
