Ever wonder what the police do on a daily basis? Just want to get to know some of Owensboro's finest? Well, here's your chance!

On Tuesday, December 10th, members of the Owensboro Police Department will be available for community interaction in an informal setting to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee. You can meet them from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Hardee’s Restaurant, located at 3101 Frederica Street, as they host their second Coffee with a Cop event.

Local Musician To Play With Country Legends

Jim Heep is an Owensboro resident with a really awesome job... he's a musician. Now, I may be a little bias because I've been lucky enough to have Jim play for me on occasion, but I feel like he's one of the best steel guitar players I've seen. And, I know that I'm not the only one who feels that way. Locally, he's played for myself, Insulated and Brasher Bogue, just to name a few. He's also had the pleasure of playing on country music's greatest stages, The Grand Ole Opry and The Ryman Auditorium. He most recently has been on the road with newcomer Chris Janson, but now he'll be taking the stage with a few country music legends.

WBKR Remembers Neil Bradley [Video]

What a difference a couple of years can make in someone's life.  It was May of 2011 that Neil Bradley, from the American Red  Cross, visited the WBKR studios to teach members of our staff CPR.  Over the years, Neil has been in our studios multiple times on behalf of the Red Cross to chat about health, safety and First Aid initiatives.  He always brought with him a smile, a great sense on humor and an undeniable enthusiasm.  And it is with heavy hearts that we share the news this morning that Neil Bradley has passed away.
