Twenty-One: A Tribute to SPC Brandon Mullins of Owensboro [Video]

It was August 25th, 2011 that Brandon Mullins was killed in Afghanistan.  The 2008 Apollo High School graduate had been stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, but was in the Middle East on special orders with Operation Enduring Freedom.  While serving there, his vehicle was attacked in the Kandahar province and the Owensboro, Kentucky native never made it back home.  To mark the 5th anniversary of his death, his parents, Tommy and Cathy Mullins, have teamed with Gray Sky Music to record a song for their fallen son.  It's called "Twenty One."  And as powerful as the song is, you must watch the video through to its conclusion.  It's the voice of Brandon that will ultimately give you chills and remind you that tomorrow is never promised.  This is incredible.

Country Heights Celebrates Start of School with Balloon Release [Video]

I remember doing something similar to this as a kid.  When I went to Thruston Elementary we had some sort of balloon release.  I vaguely remember attaching index cards to balloons and sending them off into the air for some reason or another (maybe to find a pen pal?).  Wednesday, Country Heights had a balloon launch of their own.  Teachers encouraged students to set goals for the upcoming school year and "attach" them to the balloons.  Then, everyone gathered in front of the school to set those goals free and lift them into the air to achieve new heights.  Check it out!
