I was there the very first night "The Shining" opened at the Blue Ridge Cinema in Indepependence Mall.
And, Debra and I have a tradition of watching the film every New Year's Eve since 1984. There are so many scenes we love, like, "Wendy! ... Wendy". Or, "Red Rum!". The scene above with recovering alcoholic Jack Torrance and Lloyd the barkeep serving Jack, "The hair of the dog that bit 'im."
I don't knwo about a prequel though. Jacob Hall at Screen Crush, tells us about the plans.
Prequels are all the rage these days, generally making bank at the box office due to name recognition while angering hordes of movie buffs (who take to internet comments sections to protest). However, no project has ever sounded more cinematically blasphemous than what Warner Bros. may be cooking up right now: a prequel to Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 horror classic ‘The Shining.’
