Patsy Cline — an American Legend and Icon — Died 50 Years Ago Today [VIDEO]
She is among the greatest vocalists who ever lived. Her popularity hasn't waned. And it's been 50 years since her death in a plane crash in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

I think we can all agree American Idol is a whole new ball game this year. Forget the judges' drama and the contestants you thought might make it through to the Top 20, the voting process is getting a very big upgrade.
Miranda Lambert's latest single, "Mama's Broken Heart" was one of my favorites from her "Four The Record" album from the first time I heard it. The song reminds me SO much of my Mom and her manners, that I actually LOL'd the first few times I listened to it!
The video for the song was just released this morning and it's awesome! It paints the perfect picture of a true Southern debutante. Miranda is hilarious as she tries to balance being prim and proper and going plum crazy! Ha!
If you know me, you will likely be surprised by this. My close friends know the extent to which I cringed and coiled in horror when Scotty McCreery won the 10th season of American Idol. To say that I was not a fan is being polite. Trust me. I was NO fan. But, after seeing Scotty's hilarious Harlem Shake video this week I was reminded of his song "Water Tower Town." Yes! Even this former "hater" actually liked a song of his. And I really believe . . . it SHOULDA been a hit!
Last night on American Idol, our final group of ten guys took the Las Vegas state in Sudden Death. Some rose to the occasion. Some didn't at all. And WBKR's Idol expert Steve Thompson tuned in to offer his analysis.
Last night on American Idol, the remaining girls with dreams of making the Top 20 took the stage to sing in Sudden Death. Among them . . . two country girls. WBKR's Idol expert, Steve Thompson was tuned in and shares his thoughts on how the field rounded out.
First of all, three cheers for Video On Demand. I didn't realize what a vital part of my life it was until I had it. It's because of VOD that I have discovered a great many shows I don't catch when they air in their regular time slots.
We all watched our hometown girl Jenny Beth Willis sing her heart out on American Idol over the past few weeks. And, we were all sad when she got sent home last week. This morning, she was set to return to the real world of a high school student at Owensboro Catholic High.
When the school contacted us about helping out her "Welcome Back" party, we were more than happy to join in the fun!
We didn't get a chance to talk about this last week because of our 2-day St. Jude Radiothon, but it is definitely worth revisiting. Check out Jenny Beth Willis' performance of "Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love" from American Idol's "Sudden Death" round in Las Vegas!
The voice of Charles Kelly, presumably, comes in and says, "This week...on Lady A TV." And I crack up. You never know what's gonna make you laugh, right?
Okay, Gang! 9-year-old singing sensation Skylar Cain needs YOUR help. She is one of five finalists in a National Anthem contest sponsored by one of our sister stations in Evansville, WJLT. We have featured Skylar here at WBKR.com before and recently invited her to perform at our 2013 Denim & Diamonds fundraiser for St. Jude. This kid has some massive pipes and we want to help her win the contest so she can rock out "The Star Spangled Banner" at the Ford Center.
I love having guests in the studio during my Midday show. It makes the day go by faster and I know that y'all enjoy meeting new artists. If you missed High Valley's take over of my show on Monday, you, well... missed out! Ha!
Even though I only had two of the three brothers (Bryan was stuck in a Denver airport), Brad and Curtis were SO much fun and I'm diggin their music!
Here... check em out!
