You may have heard about some of the reports of large fish die offs in the Ohio River and surrounding areas or, like me, you may have seen them for yourself. The gossip around the neighborhood this morning was all about the smell. Taking out the trash has taken on an all new aroma in my neighborhood.
July 12, 2011 I recently saw a movie called "The Company Men" starring Ben Affleck, Tommy Lee Jones, and Chris Cooper. It's about three men who deal, in various ways, with the losses of their jobs due to corporate downsizing. In the movie, there's a place where two of these men go every day until they can find work. It never says exactly what type of establishment it is, but it closely resembles a non-profit organization called Professionals in Transition.
The Owens family have a precious little girl who already knows the hardship of ill health. Stop in Rural King on Hwy 60 in Owensboro for a cookout to benefit six year old Kennedi Owens. Kennedi suffers from a Chiari malformation of the brain. She has recently undergone a difficult surgery on her brain and is now preparing for spinal surgery in the fall.
In the movies bank heists always include cool masks. Like for instance, the Joker in "The Dark Knight", clown masked his comrades in crime. I've seen the presidential rubber masks and even those semi- transparent human face masks...those really creep me out. The thing is you usually don't use outdated hair dos to hide your true identity, that is of course, until the mullet bandit arrived.
