American Idol: A Little ROCK, A Little ROLL!
Last night, the Top 9 contestants on American Idol tore into the songbook of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and, again, for the most part, delivered ROCKING performances.  In fact, Moon and I were chatting this morning about the fact that this season of American Idol is very much like this season of Dancing With The Stars!  The contenders are so evenly matched it's hard to pick a winner.  And, aft

Has March ever been THIS maddening?  Monday's National Championship game had all the makings of a classic.  On one side, you had the U Conn Huskies, who rebounded from a rather average 9-9 record in the Big East conference to storm through the conference tournament and the NCAA tournament.  On the other, the Butler Bulldogs, who had battled into the title game for the 2nd consecutive year (a feat

Chad here and Benefield is ready to breakdown this season of Celebrity Apprentice!  Now, you guys know that I have never been a fan of John Rich.  If you have ever tuned into The WBKR Waking Crew and caught one of my John Rich rants, you know that I refer to him as the Travelocity Gnome and give him grief for wearing full-length fur coats!  In fact, I remember cringing when I heard he was joining

American Idol Takes On Sir Elton John!
Last night, our remaining 11 contestants on American Idol took on the songbook of Sir Elton John, and, for me, it was the first time this season that contestants really showed what they're made of.  From top to bottom, the show was one of the strongest episodes of Idol in years.  So, who was the cream of the crop, the top of the heap?  And who's going to say "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road!"

Yesterday afternoon, American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe "tweeted" that there was going to be a shocker on Thursday's results show!  I immediately thought to myself, because he was so mediocre the night before and performed first, that Casey was doomed.  I could tell by Nigel's "tweet" tone that he thought the result was going to floor the audience.  But I guess he forgot that

In my 13 years here at WBKR, I have acquired quite a reputation for doing very well in the NCAA Tournament pool.  I have won the jackpot a couple of times and am almost always a force in the final weekend of action.  But, as the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end . . . and my run most certainly has!

Season 12 of Dancing With The Stars debuts tonight and the pressing question is "Will anyone watch?"  The producers of Dancing have taken a lot of heat for this season's cast.  In fact, many faithful fans have suggested that there really aren't "stars" in this year's batch of hopefuls!  All that said, I'm still going to watch (because it's a potential TRAIN WRECK) and your resi

5 Post-St. Patrick’s Day Hangover Remedies
St. Patrick's Day is upon us and you've no doubt got your Irish pub crawl planned. But tomorrow? Step away from the Bloody Mary. The hair of the dog may go down easy, but it won’t cure that hangover. Instead, try these remedies that we swear by—and some (sour pickle juice?!) we’ll pass on:

4 Ways To Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day
If you’re “celebrating” St. Patrick’s day by simply donning your favorite green t-shirt, you’re doing it wrong. Do it right this year: parade through the streets, pack your bags for Dublin, get pelted by the contents of the grocery store’s produce section, or even run a marathon...

American Idol: The Iovine Innovationby Stephen Thompson on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 11:50pm The big ballyhooed change for season 10 was the introduction of uber-producer Jimmy Iovine as the in-house mentor for Idol. Well, for the most part, it looks like if the contestants are up to it they can do rather well when taking his advice.
