His first day on the job was last Friday, which just so happened to be the first day of the International Bar-B-Q Festival here in Owensboro. Naturally, we invited Jordan along for a crash course in live, on-location broadcasting. Well, watch what happened when we passed Paula Martin's Paintopia booth. She was painting faces and we knew we had the perfect 6'4" blank canvas for her!

3 weeks ago I like to think that I don't drive and text. I like to think that I am a safe driver and keep distractions to a minimal. Truth is, I do sometimes send a quick "I'm on my way" or "LOL" response. I've seen the commercials pleading drivers to not text and drive. I was just behind a teenage girl yesterday and I could tell that she had both hands around the steering-wheel, texting away, driving down Frederica. This is not ok. We MUST STOP driving and texting!
Tim McGraw's latest single "The Highway Don't Care" is a beautiful song, I've loved it every since I heard it for the first time. Tim's video for this song acknowledges the problems with texting and driving and is a must see!

3 weeks ago Just when I think I can't love those crazy girls from the Pistol Annies anymore, there they go releasing the video for their latest single "Hush Hush"! This song is awesome (and Carsyn's latest favorite) and the video is absolutely perfect!
It's set in (what looks like) a country Southern Baptist Church. The girls even have some of their own family members in the video! Oh, how could I forget?!? Ashley Monroe even goes all "Cameron Diaz in every movie she's ever made" and does a little dancin in her panties! Ha!
3 weeks ago Today on Confessions of a Country Music DJ! I never buy CD's. Seriously, I really don't. The summer I graduated high school I worked at Disc Jockey inside Towne Square Mall and I think I gave just about every paycheck back to Terry Woodward. I used to buy CD's all the time and then, with the advent of ITunes, stopped cold in my tracks. ITunes is to music what Whitman's was to the Sampler, right? But, the other day, I caved and bought my first CD in years. And it wasn't country (insert gasp)! And it's a CD that is setting HUGE records in the UK! It's not even American (insert another gasp)! In fact, Emeli Sande (who is my new non-country obsession and my favorite new Brit) just broke a record that was held by The Beatles for nearly five decades . . .

Willie is bringing his Willie Nelson & Family tour to town and we have been celebrating over the last couple of months with ticket giveaways and more. A few weeks ago, we had a TAD POLL about Willie during The WBKR Waking Crew. And that poll was . . . What is YOUR favorite Willie Nelson song? I don't have to hesitate a second to name mine. It's Willie's classic "Always on My Mind." And, I must say, there are several versions of that song I absolutely love. While Brenda Lee recorded the original version, it's a handful of covers that are on my mind. Check these out.
