And THIS video pretty much sums up why we take 26 hours out of each broadcast year to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. February 19, 2013 This week here at WBKR, we are gearing up for our 2013 St. Jude Radiothon presented by Poole's Pharmacy Care. We officially kicked off our St. Jude season with Denim and Diamonds on February 1st at the Theatre Workshop Opryhouse. A handful of local musicians and bands joined us for that event and we raised nearly $4000 in a single night! There was a huge collection of talent on the stage, but we all agree that one singer stole the hearts of everyone in the theatre. Check out Skylar Cain and her AMAZING rendition of "Blue Moon of Kentucky!"
February 19, 2013 Don't judge! Don't hate on me because I am truly man's best friend. Saturday, I was broadcasting live from Give a Dog a Bone in Owensboro and was blown away by the big table of Valentine's-themed dog treats. They looked just like something you would see in a bakery for humans and my jowls were watering. Given the fact that the treats were made of all-natural food products, I just couldn't resist. So, I picked out a gigantic iced doggie bone and, not gonna lie, I ate it! WATCH!
