I went to college at Western Kentucky University and geography was my minor. So I took a lot of geography classes. All my professors in the department were awesome, but Dr. Trapasso was my favorite. And he loved Kentucky cave systems.

Somebody recently--and, for the life of me, I can't remember who it was--mentioned something to me about people holding up a lighter to a snowball and it turning black and not exactly melting...or something.

A couple of years ago, I was driving out on 554, between US 431 and Windy Hollow, when a hawk or a falcon--some large bird of prey--swooped down and plowed into my windshield. Scared the crap out of me.
