Friday morning, Chad Warrix visited on my show. He was amazing! The Hazard, KY native sang a few songs and chit-chatted about music, Kentucky and a cold, purple van!

You probably know Chad from his former group, Halfway to Hazard. They had a top 40 hit with "Daisy". He is currently working on a solo project and played a few tunes for us today. I'll be honest with you, I was hoping that the guitar and banjo would stick around for a little bit longer! They sounded fabulous! He played a song ("Die By My Own Hand") he co-wrote that will be on Tim McGraw's upcoming album, released this coming Tuesday.  If Tim's a smart man, which I think he is, he'll release that one as a single. Such a great song!

When Chad first got here, I noticed that he was pretty bundled up clothes wise. Well, that's for a reason. Their bus (which is purple!) is experiencing some problems. When the bus is actually driving, the heat doesn't work! And, there really is duct tape on some of the windows because the air seeps in. I took a look inside Barney and it's great! Blanketed with, well, blankets! Haha! Hope they had a warm ride back to Nashville!

On of the cool things I found out about Chad is that he hosts a really big charity event in his community. He founded the annual Crockettsville Charity Concert & Trailride, which has raised over $400,000 for local charities.  This year’s event will be held August 27-28 in Crockettsville, KY.  Past performers include Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, Randy Houser, Keith Anderson, Lee Brice and more. Chad's new single is "Rain On The Roof" and it's rockin! Take a listen!
