The fast food giant issued a statement Wednesday saying it was receiving reports of unusual activity involving payment cards from a few of its restaurants.  The company added it is working with IT security firms and law enforcement agencies to determine exactly what has happened.

There is no word yet on the location of the Chick-Fil-A franchises involved or if any of those locations are here in the tristate area.  However, the company has assured its customers that they will not be held liable for fraudulent charges on their accounts.

This scare is just the latest on a rapidly growing list of retailers and restaurants that have been compromised in the last year.  Among those experiencing recent security breaches: Kmart, Dairy Queen, Target and Home Depot.
