Christmas Wish is a Wrap

The 36th annual WBKR-WOMI Christmas Wish program has ended. Thank you for contributing so much, adopting letters, volunteering long hours of work or just by staying interested. This year we received 1264 letters of request. And, only 100 were not granted. Usually there are many more. Those not granted are due to being out of our service area such as California; are from a family already receiving assistance or we were not able to validate the recipient.

1,164 letters granted!  And, that was with a large drop in cash donations to $57,000. Toys, however, increased in donations tremendously. The Marine Corps Toys for Tots were our, as Christmas Wish director Sally Davenport put it,  "Angels from Heaven".

A big thank you for 5,000 hours of volunteers, space from Town Square Mall, all the restaurants that fed our volunteers and many more.
