It seems like it should still be just our first official day of Christmas Wish. Well, actually, today is our last. It's been a roller coaster of a year, to say the least. But, as a community, we pulled together and CW was a great success.

With any charity, we have LOTS of people to thank. Take a look at this list of people and organizations that helped us grant Christmas for over 920 Tri-State families.

Towne Square Mall, for the last four years, has been more than generous to donate this great space for us to use as our office. They are so easy to work with and always very helpful if and when we need anything.

Green River Appliance provided us with a freezer and refrigerator for the food we give to our CW families.

Bakos Party Rentals for the tables in our office.

Tri-State Printing provided us with a copy/fax machine. (Trust me, we used this constantly!!)

Coca Cola for beverages for our volunteers.

The Daviess County Pork Producers donated pork products for our food baskets.

Kimberly Clark supplied us with paper products.

OMHS donated hams for food baskets.

The Telecom Pioneers for always being a means of support here at the office.

We had several local restaurants help feed us in the CW office everyday; Chick-fil-a, Shakers Pizza, Salsarita's, Ole South BBQ, Show Me's of Owensboro and 54 Pizza Express (W).

I feel that I can speak for WOMI, as well as all of us here at WBKR when I say that it is an honor to broadcast from and about CW to you all. We are SO proud to be a part of this amazing organization!

I feel like there's a group that I'm leaving out...... hmmmm.... Oh yes!!

VOLUNTEERS!!!! Over 5,000 hours of time was donated to the CW office this year! WOW!! We honestly couldn't do it without the great volunteers that we see year after year. They come in, day after day, smile on their face and do whatever they can to make CW a success. Thank You So Much!!

And, of course, our fearless leader... Sally Davenport. I don't even want to imagine what we would do without her. She's such a great guide for us and an extremely compassionate person. Plus... she's pretty fun and knows how to roll through the rough spots to get to the sunshine.

Because of the generosity of our local businesses and Tri-State residents, we were able to grant the Christmas wishes of over 920 families and raised over $75,000 (with more coming in)! Most of these families having two to three children per household. From those who dropped the change from their pockets into our donation box, to those who brought in one toy or canned good item and those who signed big checks and adopted families....THANK YOU! For 35 years, you, the community, have never let us down. Some way, you always make CW a true holiday miracle for these families in need.

We look forward to seeing you next year!

Merry Christmas!
