City of Owensboro Releases City Hall, Transit, Parks, Sanitation Holiday Schedules

Here is your official City of Owensboro schedule for the holiday season:

City hall and parks offices will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and again on New Year's Day.

Owensboro Transit System will also be closed on those days.

City sanitation service will closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day with a one-day delay beginning with Friday collections on Saturday.

Now, because of the heavy volume of trash that will be anticipated during the days after Christmas, customers are encouraged to recycle at the drop-off recycling center at 1401 West 7th.

For the first scheduled collection day after Christmas, the Sanitation Department's procedures will be modified and extra trash that is bagged and place next to mobile carts will also be collected.

Also, extra trash collection is for holiday trash ONLY and doesn't include "clean-outs" of furniture, tires, appliances, and such.

Beginning January 2nd, 2016 and running through January 7th, the Sanitation Department will collect NATURAL Christmas trees on your scheduled collection day. Please remove all manner of decorations from the trees and place them curbside by 6AM on your scheduled collection day. Do not place trees in plastic bags.
